This challenge has been specially launched as a result of the recent school closures and the prospect of weeks with children staying at home and getting very little exercise.
The challenge is a straightforward but motivating concept - walk, run, cycle or scoot the distance equivalent to either 25km (if your child is in Reception to Year 2), or 50km (if your child is in Year 3 to Year 6). This isn’t to be achieved in one go but over the whole of Spring 2 (5 weeks). It will start on Monday 22nd February and end on Sunday 28th March.
Miss Bowes, your PE coordinator will be getting all the children and staff to enter at school too so she hopes you will jump on board with this challenge from home.
Keep a track of your distance as you go along using our distance tracker and when you've reached the magic distance, we will send your fantastic medal as well as downloadable personalised certificate to school to collect once everyone returns, hopefully later this academic year. Please note that delivery time of your medal will depend on restrictions in place at the time. If you decide to complete the 25km or 50km challenge, the medal shown will reflect the distance completed.
Broad Oak Primary School is funding the entry cost to this challenge so it won’t cost you a penny, and deadline for entry is Wednesday 24th February.
Remember, when you are completing your distance you must do so as safely as possible, observing government guidelines and social distancing rules.
In order for the school to know which pupils have entered and to know how many medals to order, please complete the form below. If you are entering more than one child, please complete a separate form for each entry. Deadline for entry is 24th February 2021 and you have until 28th March 2021 to complete the challenge. Please make sure you complete your details fully otherwise the school may not recognise your entry.
