Welcome to the School Run, thank you for taking the time to look at our website.
We have been married for over 9 years and have two young children who keeps us on our toes. We have both been teaching for over 10 years and continually strive to balance work, being good parents and keeping fit and healthy.
The latter is particularly difficult and whilst we both enjoy running we find we never have anything to aim for. A run may be squeezed into an evening once our daughter is asleep or on a Saturday or Sunday morning.
We were both sat in the garden at the end of the summer term 2016 and there we began to formulate a plan. Virtual races are not new to the web but there isn't anything currently available to pupils, parents, teachers or other members of the school community, a community which is large in size but typically find leisure time difficult to fit into a working week.
We have two sections to our website.
1) The first is for schools and teachers. Over the last year we have organised a range of different events and challenges in hundreds of schools across the UK. Our 'Run a Marathon 2019' challenge involved over 3000 pupils and our recent 'Spring 2018/9 Virtual Competition' involved nearly 5000. Our aim is to make our challenges fun, inclusive and affordable to schools. We hope you might want to take a look and spread the word. What's more, if you are looking to organise a bespoke challenge, please do contact us.
2) The second part of our website is for individuals to enter and take part in our virtual competitions. Enter via the 'Enter a Race’ tab on the top of this page and choose your distance. Races cost £2.99 making them the cheapest on the web and perfect for families to take part. You can run (or walk) your virtual race at any point during each competition window and wherever in the world you want - the park, the beach, the city, just about anywhere! On successfully completing your chosen distance before the closing date for each race, submit your race results and proof through our website and we will send your bespoke medal as a reward for finishing.
We hope that all of the above makes sense, but if not, please do not hesitate to contact us via email - [email protected]
Wishing you the very best of luck!
